Designed for overnight stabling, colder days and flexible layering, this mediumweight stable rug contains a warm 200g polyfill. The insulated filling works with the rug’s quilted construction to help retain body heat while your horse is resting indoors.

The 200g filling provides a useful middle ground between a lightweight stable sheet and a heavier winter stable rug. It is suitable for many horses during cooler weather, although the correct rug weight will depend on the individual horse, whether it is clipped, the stable temperature and any additional layers being used.

A standard-neck design provides comfortable body coverage without extending over the horse’s neck. This makes the Rastrick V2 particularly useful for horses that do not require a full or combo neck and for owners who prefer to add a separate neck cover or liner only when conditions require one.

The quilted outer helps distribute the 200g filling across the rug and prevents excessive movement of the insulation. This supports consistent warmth across the horse’s body while maintaining the smart, structured appearance expected from a quality stable rug.

For improved comfort around a sensitive area, the rug features a soft faux-fur wither pad. This cushions the point where the rug rests over the withers and helps reduce direct pressure and friction during regular wear.

At the front, flat T-clip chest fastenings provide quick and secure closure. Slider adjustments allow the chest fit to be altered, while an additional hook-and-loop chest catch helps hold the front panels together while the main fastenings are being secured.

Crossed belly surcingles help stabilise the rug underneath the horse and reduce unwanted movement while the horse is standing, lying down or moving around the stable.

A wipe-clean PVC-coated fillet strap keeps the rear of the rug positioned without using elasticated leg straps. The smooth coating makes the strap easier to clean and helps prevent bedding and stable dirt from becoming embedded in the material.

The large padded tail cover provides additional warmth and coverage across the top of the hindquarters. It also helps the rear of the rug sit neatly while the horse is resting in the stable.

Finished in a classic navy, red and white colour combination, the Rastrick V2 features distinctive Whitaker-branded straps and detailing for a coordinated, premium appearance.

This stable rug is not waterproof and is not intended for normal turnout in wet weather. It should be used indoors or during supervised dry conditions where waterproof protection is not required.
