Designed to provide dependable winter warmth with adaptable neck coverage, this medium-to-heavyweight stable rug contains a dense 250g insulated filling. Its fully detachable neck cover allows you to increase coverage during colder nights or remove it when your horse requires more ventilation around the neck.

The double horizontal quilting helps distribute the insulating fill evenly across the rug, reducing movement of the filling and supporting consistent warmth across the horse’s body. This makes the Rastrick V2 a practical choice for overnight stabling, clipped horses and colder periods when a lightweight stable rug may not provide sufficient insulation.

The detachable neck transforms the rug from a combo-neck design into a standard-neck stable rug. This flexibility allows the level of coverage to be adjusted according to the stable temperature, the horse’s coat and whether additional layers are being used.

A soft faux-fur wither pad cushions the area where pressure and friction commonly occur. This helps provide a softer contact point around the withers and supports comfortable wear during longer periods in the stable.

Crossed belly surcingles help keep the rug correctly positioned while the horse moves, eats, rests or lies down. At the rear, a wipe-clean PVC-coated fillet strap helps stabilise the rug without the need for elasticated leg straps. The smooth coating makes the strap easier to maintain and prevents stable bedding from becoming heavily embedded in the material.

A generously padded tail cover provides additional warmth and coverage across the hindquarters. The rug is finished in a classic navy, red and white colour combination with distinctive Whitaker branding across the straps and detailing.

The Rastrick V2 Combo Stable Rug is designed for indoor use and is not waterproof. It should be changed for an appropriate waterproof turnout rug before the horse is turned out in wet weather.

This is a stable rug and is not waterproof. It should not be used as a substitute for a waterproof turnout rug.

A 250g stable rug may be too warm for some unclipped horses, native breeds or well-insulated stables. The correct rug depends on the horse’s breed, clipping, age, health, body condition, stable temperature and whether additional layers are being worn.

Check your horse regularly by placing a hand underneath the rug behind the shoulder. The horse should feel comfortably warm and dry rather than hot, sweaty, cold or clammy.
